Although originally from Ohio, Dr. John Hammerstein considers himself a Hoosier. Dr. Hammerstein played football for Indiana University as an undergraduate then received his masters degree in Biology and medical doctorate from
Indiana University. He completed orthopedic surgery residency at Michigan State and spine fellowship training at the Spine Institute of Arizona.
Dr. Hammerstein is a member of North American Spine Society, Indiana State Medical Association, and Monroe/Owen County Medical Society. In his spare time, Dr. Hammerstein likes to bass fish and hike with his wife and daughters.
